Shots of Ombre Turquoise Hair by Yannick Khong

Here are some shots I took at home after I got my hair done in ombre turquoise! I originally planned for the tips to be cobalt blue, but as I had to bleach my dark Asian hair to make it blond before the dye was added, I believe that the yellow tint contributed to this greener result. Either way, I was happy with how it turned out! Although the hype for brunette-blond ombre hair has subsided, this more unique take on ombre hair keeps things fresh in my book.

I also had some unpublished shots from right before my hair was done. I thought I would be missing my long hair, but before I know it, my super-fast growing hair will be long again. Short hair may seem easier to maintain, but I feel as though long hair can pull off a messy I-don’t-care sort of look, whereas messy short hair on me just looks neglected and unpolished. This does depend on the type of hair you have – those with wavier hair have an easier time pulling off the short beach/out-of-bed look.
I created a Pinterest board for hair inspirations before heading to the salon. I highly recommend making a Pinterest board if you’re changing your look or even thinking of buying a new outfit! It helps to compare variations of the same look, and weigh out their pros and cons. Aside from Pinterest, there are many other ways to help you choose the right look.
