It started with some inspiration from an old doily dress that I found for 15 bucks at a thrift store on Saint Laurent street, and it resulted in a blend of urban and natural settings to create a dark world in which this doll wanders. We both wanted to pull away from a fashion vibe and give an eerie feel to this photo shoot. On the processing side, finding the right colors was a challenge for Yannick, as he attempted to fit some kind of old Asian horror film aesthetic. I believe the results of his hard work are exceptional.

We’re not sure if this dolly character roams by herself or if she is amongst many Alice-esque dolls wandering at different places at the same time in this “Wonderland.” Open to interpretation, this is a visual story that holds an interesting focus on my doll costume. All in all, this narrative album is a magical mystery with a hint of creepy.

I look forward to working with Yannick Khong again.

Thank you!!! You can’t get the dress 🙁 because it was from a thrift store! But if you google “doily dress” maybe you’ll find something? Or it might just lead back to this post….LOL

If you want to borrow it then be my guest, but don’t expect to be able to raise your arms up comfortably haha.
