Chillin Out in Urban Chic

Photos for Chillin Out in Urban Chic taken by Jessica Concannon (thank you) and retouched by me

Snapback by H&M (mens)| Crop top by American Apparel | white side zip dress shorts by ZARA | Red-blue-white high heel sandals by Aldo Rise X Preen | Palladium Tote

There is no better way to embrace the summer than with vibrant colours. I’m loving my multi-coloured high heels by Aldo Rise X Preen. I got them on sale at the end of last season and now I finally get to rock them! As I was leaving my house to meet up with fellow Montreal blogger Jessica of Westmount Fashionista, I realized that I might be just a little overdressed. One might think that to fix such a problem you should take an item or two off, or maybe change what you’re wearing entirely. I fixed my little issue by throwing on this casual snapback from H&M, which really helped to tone things down a notch, and not to mention add a little charm to the look. Fashion week and fancy balls are for uptight outfits but our city streets welcome urban chic!

Psssst! If you have not yet voted for me for the Twin-Set Canada bloggers contest, please do so that I can be on my way to Milan fashion week! You can vote once every 24 hours.

Twin-Set and Moar Street fashion!

I have never been anywhere in Europe, which is why I put in an extra effort in my official entry for the Twin-Set Canada photo contest. Should I win, I’ll be taking part in a Twin-Set fashion show in Milan next season.

The challenge: To model a shirt from the new Twin-Set collection in a setting that displays “Italy in Montreal.” I decided to take those directions quite literally with this casual shot of me as I jaywalk Saint Laurent Boulevard in front of Fruiterie Milano in the heart of Little Italy. This is how Montrealers do it, so fine me if you can find me!

I am quite happy with the result of my photo thanks to a very special photographer, but I still need your help to keep me at the top. Kindly click the banner below to vote for my entry in the contest and fly me to Milan!

While I’m at it, why not throw in a couple of street photos? I confess that I haven’t been the best fashion blogger recently, but we can expect that  my posting consistency will return along with those warm summer days us Canadians have been longing for. Below are a few shots taken in and around Parc Lafontaine.

What I’m wearing:

– Faux leather jacket from Le Chateau
– Thrifted orange and black net-graphic sweater
– A-line skirt from
– Black tights by
– Gore-tex lined chunky-heel booties by Aquatalia

Like many girls these days, I have an unconditional love for crop tops. If you like the one I’m wearing above, it’s quite an easy DIY project. Simply grab a pair of scissors and chop off about 50% of the material (lol). The only challenge is finding a sweater with an interesting colour or graphic worth wearing. If it’s got no charm, don’t buy it, even if it’s only five bucks!

Should you ever so happen to take a minute of your time vote for me, please send me a line, because I definitely want to know!

Well…that’s a wrap on my blogging duties for now, I better get back to Walking Dead. I watched 10 consecutive episodes of this show in a row last night until 7:30 AM. Talk about letting go once exams are over.

And C is for Coffee!

I feel like such a wannabe blogger sometimes – I don’t own Instagram (so no #instamoments for me), as my phone is anything but smart. I do however have these mobile uploads from my boyfriend’s phone to show you. Here is a lightning quick post displaying my style as well as my love for coffee.

(I cheated, this one is taken with my Olympus and cross-processed for an #instawannabe look.
