Bag Love: Vlisco Medium Lime Shoulder Bag

If you haven’t heard of Vlisco, then you’re missing out! Vlisco was founded in 1846 and specializes in unique colourful fashion fabrics. The styles and graphics are inspired from the West and Central African culture. Their fabrics are of superb quality and have so much personality. To inspire consumers with their textiles, Vlisco launches a fashion collection filled with images of garments made by their fabrics which extends to accessories, jewellery, and more! Unfortunately, from what I gather, as beautiful as their dresses are, it is just for inspiration and not available for purchase anywhere!

Currently, “Parade of Charm” is the newest collection. I LOVE these set of prints. The theme of geometrics accented with vibrant colors is playful yet bold and sharp! I’m so glad to have stumbled upon Vlisco’s Medium Lime Shoulder Bag (on the left). I’m normally not a fan of hobo shapes, but this particular accessory has structure and originality with the contrast the plasticized motif on the grain leather! This geometric motif also lines the bag inside, really making this bag simply chic inside and out.

Item Spotlight: Hip and Bone Embellished Leather Cap

When I saw this Hip and Bone embellished leather snapback making its way down the runway during Montreal Fashion Week 23, I knew I had to have one. A flat peak cap doesn’t fit into my usual lady-like style, though apparently I wasn’t the only one willing to compromise my typical look in order to sport this badass accessory! This boned-out cap was much anticipated by many in the Montreal fashion circle after having seen the Spring 2013 collection, so much that Hip and Bone CEO Carlos Fogelman was hustling left and right in order to keep up with the requests! Phone calls, emails and instant messages asking for the price, styles and where to buy this one-of-a-kind item had Carlos’ work cut out for him. I was lucky enough to snatch one of these caps back at the beautiful Hip and Bone studio. I got a kick out of making these photos, hope you enjoy!

Love That Look: Karlie Kloss in Alexander Wang

Of course Karlie Kloss is going to rock out the “le Bal” party hosted by MAC Cosmetics and Carine Roitfield. The dress code was black and white and it may seem restricting, but Karlie’s look from Alexander Wang’s Spring 2013 collection, has a wow factor in this bold minimalist cut-out crocodile patterned dress. The dress looks like it’s floating! Leave it to Alexander Wang’s reputation to deliver a sassy twist to iconic American Sportswear.

Although I love the clean futuristic styling of the dress in the runway show, as seen below with Erin Wasson, Karlie Kloss’ easy girl-next-door but edgy interpretation with her nonchalant crimped curly hair and banded semi-patent shoes suits her to a tea.
