Boyfriend Shirt to Work

Here’s what I wore to the office yesterday – a laid back boyfriend shirt from Urban Outfitters, which is actually my boyfriend’s shirt.  This photo was taken in beautiful mile end of Montreal.  For some reason, everyone was staring when my boyfriend was taking this.  I’m so used to doing my posts by now that it’s really not a big deal when I see others take photos.  I guess there was not much else happening on this street…

It’s morning now over here and I should be getting ready for work because it’s getting epic late (and I’m always the last one to arrive).  I think I’ll wear more traditional office wear today…

I just want to say HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY to my sister Kelly! 🙂

Outfit Post: 2 for 1

I thought I would quickly post up my outfits for the past 2 days, including where I got my items, to give you some summer 2012 fashion ideas.  If you want to stay thrifty, these ensembles were not too expensive to put together.  I was going to post some shots I took of the Jazz fest de Montréal, as well as some other daily snippets of my life, but honestly, who cares? As a new blogger I have a hard time talking about what I do in a day and I’d rather stay relevant to the purpose of this blog – fashion for the city girl that doesn’t settle! Here are 2 cool outfits to give you ideas for your own summer wardrobe.  I hope you like them.

Outfit 1: Bohemian with Floral

Long-sleeve cotton floral dress – H&M

Necklace – Boutique on Saint Laurent (sorry I forgot the name)

Strappy sandals – H&M

Velvet head accessory – American Apparel

Beaded Clutch – vintage

Outfit 2: Classic and Comfortable

Yes, I make my outfit posts while I’m on the go.

Charcoal grey dress – H&M
Black loose crop tank – Zara
Beaded clutch – vintage
Gunmetal chain necklace – Another random boutique on Saint Laurent for which I forgot the name
Cat eye glasses – Tom Ford

Which outfit wins? I personally preferred outfit #2 because it was a lot less hassle.  Hair accessories are cute but I have to worry about keeping them in place, and it also messes up my bangs (which I’m a little too O.C.D. about sometimes).  Anyway, hopefully you’re having a good weekend.  Until next time…

Outfit Post: Stylish Ropy Accessories

If you`re broke this summer, then you might as well do it in style.

I got this synched cotton jersey dress at Stitches for 5 bucks.  It`s cute and comfortable, but very plain.  This outfit would be “meh” without its ropy accessories!  The necklace is the centerpiece of this ensemble because it makes a big statement, but at the same its texture and tone fit right in. It’s almost as if it’s attached to the neckline of my dress.  If one were to buy a simple dress like this that comes pre-embellished (and I don’t mean rhinestones), she’s definitely looking at a designer dress with a designer price tag! Stay creative this summer and you’ll spend less while having more originality. No compromise there!

Here’s what I’m wearing:

  • Rope-spring necklace by Aldo Accessories
  • Studded ring by BCBG (really doesn’t work with this outfit…but I had to wear it because I never get to wear it!)
  • Cuff bracelet by Delilah
  • Turquoise crystal ring by Delilah
  • Off-white double compartment purse by Derek Alexander
  • Multi-colored canvas-cork wedge sandal by Spring

I think I might be overdoing my item descriptions just a little bit.  Must be all that online shopping.

Above I’m shopping for a rocking graphic tee for that day where I look like I’m not trying hard, but in reality I tried so hard to make it look that way. 😉 Sad? Nope, just fashion!

One word about the photo above – YUCK! If you know me, then you know that this is exactly the type of style I try to stay away from.  Y’all already know I’m Asian – do i need a big pink umbrella to tell you? As I was posing to take this picture, a guy selling these umbrellas in the sidewalk sale handed one over to me to pose with.  I politely accepted but felt extremely tacky! Lol.

Thanks to Yannick Khong for these sweet shots!
