Montreal Fashion Week Day 4: Fast Favourites

I guess this isn’t really considered “fast” favourites anymore, because MFW23 ended last Friday and we’re a bit late on the posts.  Susan and I still have to write up our interviews with Philippe Dubuc and Denis Gagnon, as well as our full critical review of the 23rd edition of Montreal Fashion Week. We definitely don’t want to sacrifice quality in order to get these posts online so they will be up later rather than sooner!

Day 4 consisted of Anomal Couture, Hinda A and Rachel Sin.  Below are our picks based on originality, beauty and elegance.  The Anomal jumpsuit shown first is definitely on my wishlist.

Leather, Metallics and a Little Retro

The designers and guests of Montreal Fashion Week have inspired me to steer away from my usual modern and preppy look, and to try for something that’s a little more on the edgy side.  Leather is such a popular choice as it is clean, chic and easy to wear, though I refuse to blend into the crowd by conforming to all black, studs and anything typically bad girl.  I’ve opted for a feminine blue metallic tank, which really emphasizes the shine in these leather pants, and added a retro 80’s triangle brooch for that touch of surprise that I always like to have in my outfits.  The black and blue accents on the brooch stand out, as these are the main colors of my ensemble.  Hope you like it.

Montreal Fashion Week Day 3: Fast Favourites

Montreal Fashion Week Day 3 was awesome, thanks to Hip and Bone and Rudsak, two Montreal labels that played things very cool on the runway.  Black is always a popular choice and the designers and their models knew how to rock it.

Both shows inspired me the accessories department.  I’m really excited to purchase one of Hip and Bone’s all leather bone-embellished caps.  All 3 styles of shoes from Rudsak really caught my eye, especially one that had a hollow framed wedge, made out of what looked to be sheet metal!

Here are our faves of day 3.  Thanks to our super cool photographer for this event, Alexandru Petrosan.
