Boyfriend Shirt to Work

BoyfriendShirt

Here’s what I wore to the office yesterday – a laid back boyfriend shirt from Urban Outfitters, which is actually my boyfriend’s shirt.  This photo was taken in beautiful mile end of Montreal.  For some reason, everyone was staring when my boyfriend was taking this.  I’m so used to doing my posts by now that it’s really not a big deal when I see others take photos.  I guess there was not much else happening on this street…

It’s morning now over here and I should be getting ready for work because it’s getting epic late (and I’m always the last one to arrive).  I think I’ll wear more traditional office wear today…

I just want to say HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY to my sister Kelly! 🙂

High Society by Karl Lagerfeld

Mr. Lagerfeld, what can’t you do? You design clothes for the most iconic label in fashion, direct short films, and photograph beautifully. Courtesy of Harper’s Bazaar, we can all enjoy Karl’s vision.

The inspiration behind this photoshoot was the long-missed Café Society era, in which beautiful and wealthy people hosted and mingled in semi-public places. Who would better represent this time than  lavish style icons Mona Bismarck and Millicent Rogers (modeled by top models Anja Rubik and Melissa Tammerijn)!

Let’s all take Mona and Millicent’s example of having a notable personal style, bold attitude, and their love to make a statement with fashion.

Review Karl’s comments on the photoshoot on this behind-the-scenes footage:

Take a look at what Mona and Millicent could be sporting if they were here today.

My personal favourite looks are of

  • Tom Ford fur vest and mesh gown (Photo 1): I have a weakness for sheerness in clothing. The translucent mesh detail along with the swirling detail of the gown outlines the sexy silhouette of a woman
  • White Yves Saint-Laurent asymmetrical fold dress (Photo 2): Just how the little black dress is iconic, this white dress has an understated elegance in this minimalist and modern design. How comfortable it looks too; perhaps we can consider it to be a lengthened shift dress
  • Pleated Peplum Lanvin dress (Photo 5): Volume! I am a huge fan of peplum because this trend gives a boost to any woman’s figure, giving that illusion of a small waist and an hourglass figure. Usually, the over-skirt is the main focus, but it seems that the pleating detail is what makes this dress!
  • Donna Karan blouse bodysuit and long skirt (Photo 9): the contrast of the turquoise jewellery was a beautiful accent in this dramatic lady-like attire. Of course the plunging neckline adds a daring twist, giving the outfit the femme fatale touch to a sophisticated look.
